Had an amazing solo adventure! I’m 31 and met a bunch of likeminded people from all over the world and saw beautiful places in a compact but well timed trip. Sally was a great guide and both hands on in offering her company and extensive knowledge but also easy going for letting you explore at your own time. She made a great trip even better, and I’ll never forget it! Definitively reccomend this trip to a solo traveler who has always wanted to see the area since it’s cheaper than doing it on your own and also you’ll meet great people to share dinner/a swim in the Mediterranean with.
"Recommended to anyone!"
I had a great time, amalfi coast is beautiful and fun to visit! Limoncello and gelato tasting was amazing, pompeii was fun to visit lots of things to learn, amalfi and positano were two nice villages and amazing beaches. In napoli you get the best pizza in italy for cheap!
Our tour guide, Alessandro, was very professional and also funny brought us to eat amazing food and deserts, he had to drive us himself because we were a very small group (5 person), good driver! Do not rent a car there because streets are so narrow that two cars can't pass next to eachother, He knew the history of all the villages we saw and transmitted it to us very well. I recommend this tour to anyone!
Meet your Italy on a Budget tour leader at 9:00am and start your adventure by private bus/minivan towards the Amalfi coast. After a 2h30 ride we will reach our first stop Pompeii, the UNESCO world Heritage destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m of ashes and pumice in the eruption of the Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. In Pompeii you will have free time to explore the ruins at your own peace ( entry tickets included ) or organize with your tour leader a 2h guided tour with a professional local guide for only € 15 extra to learn more about the Romans, the ruins and the last moments of the people at that time before dying . The trip will continue to Sorrento, a wonderful pearl on the Amalfi coast overlooking the bay of Naples where our accommodation is located.
Once in Sorrento, after you all have checked in your accommodation, your guide will take you for an orientation walk around the town center pointing out the local products and the best places to eat. We wil then stop in a limoncello shop where you will be able to learn how this typical liqueur is produced and obviously taste it at the end. In the evening you have the choice to spend time on your own or join your guide to a local restaurant for an optional delicious dinner and to a club later on for some drinks.
What a perfect way to start the day with a boat trip to Capri island. Our boat tour will depart from the campsite in the morning. During our trip to Capri you will be enchanted by the magnificent bay of Sorrento, the beautiful coast line and the blue Gulf of Naples.
In Capri you will have time to discover the island in complete freedom by public bus; visit Anacapri, where you can take the chairlift up to the top of Mt. Solaro for a breathtaking 360 degree view of the island, visit the Blue Grotto with fantastic crystal blue colours, explore Capri town and finally relax on the beach. You can also book with your Italy on a Budget guide our private shuttle bus to tour the island in the most comfortable and easy way.
We will board the boat again in the afternoon to return to the camping village but not before touring around the island of Capri to admire the Grotta Verde (Green Grotto), Punta Carena, (the furthest point of the island) and all the amazing natural beauties. Back to the camping village in the late afternoon.
In the evening you have the choice to spend time on your own or join your guide at the restaurant of the campsite for some drinks and an optional dinner for an easy and relaxing night.
Our third day is all for the Amalfi coast and its wonders. The panorama from the narrow and windy road of the Amalfi coast will be terrific. During the journey to Amalfi , we will pass by the Islands of Galli, the fishing villages of Furore and Praiano, famous for its crystal-clear seas, the encompassing views and its cathedral located 365m above the sea level. During the trip you will learn about the local traditions, customs, traditional products and interesting facts that only locals would know.
We will stop in the town of Amalfi for about 2h to allow you to discover the town at your own peace and its famous cathedral, lie down at the beach and have a bite on one of the typical shop selling fresh local food. We will board again after lunch for the splendid town of Positano with its cascade of colourful houses, clinging magically to earth. Its pastel buildings form a vertical wonderland. Narrow, threadlike streets provide boutiques, cafes, restaurants and bars. In Positano we will stay 3h to allow you to relax on the beach, go for a swim and discover this little gem of the Amalfi coast. We will return back our campsite at approx 6:00 pm.
Our last evening in Sorrento you have the choice to spend time on your own or join your guide at a restaurant in Sorrento for the best pizza of the Amalfi coast and later for some drinks.
*the same itinerary will be offered by boat in the event of smaller groups.
It’s time to say goodbye to the wonderful Amalfi coast to return back to Rome. Our first stop will be Naples.
