You will need a smart phone for the map, we have phone holders for the bikes and if download the app “Maps.me” you can follow the GPS map offline, without a mobile phone signal. Bring a bottle of water and plenty of sunscreen and wear clothes suitable for a day’s cycling.
Meet with the other young travelers at E-Bikes Florence shop to collect your ebikes and upload the GPS route to your phone. From here you make your way towards Villa Demidoff via Fiesole, where your ebikes will effortlessly take you up 500m to the main piazza in Fiesole for a stop in the historic piazza and a ride up to visit San Francesco Monastery for the breathtaking panoramas of Florence. After leaving Fiesole you will quickly find yourself immersed in the serenity of the Tuscan countryside, the cool mountain air will provide a welcome respite from the heat of Florence!
The route beyond Fiesole is packed with typical Tuscan scenery, with olive trees, vineyards and little farmhouses. There are plenty of opportunities to stop along the way to take photos and stop to enjoy the views.
Once in Villa Demidoff Park, you can tour the estate on your E-Bike to take in the many historically relevant features including the Chapel and the Paggeria of Parco Pratollino built in the 1580s and the famous Colossus of Appennino (created between 1579 to 1580) by Flemish artist Giambologna. There are lots of shady spots under the trees to relax and enjoy a picnic, play some games and there is a café on site if you would prefer to have lunch there.
After an afternoon enjoying the tranquility of Villa Demidoff, you will continue your E-Bike ride with an easy downhill route all the way back into to Florence, where you will be back to drop your bike off at around 6pm.
