Come and join us for a very special tour about the history and traditions of the Italian food and wine as well as the history of Florence.
The tour starts with the visit of one of the biggest FOOD MARKET in Florence. We’ll guide you together with our knowledgeable tour leader through a tasting path of the most important products this land has to offer and we will teach you how to distinguish the highest quality ingredients. The tour will then continue through the LEATHER MARKET to learn about the tipycal Florentine products towards the Medici chapels, the wonderful Cathedral, piazza della Repubblica, Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi gallery and finally the Ponte Vecchio. You will fall in love with the art, the architecture and the masterpieces left by the many greatest Renaissance artists such as Michelangelo and Donatello for you to admire.
Bonus stop during the tour at one of the historical gelateria in Florence for a delicious Italian GELATO to rest before returning back to the departure point or to grab something to eat for lunch before an exciting afternoon to discover some of the most beautiful villages in Tuscany; SIENA, MONTERIGGIONI & CHIANTI REGION
First stop will be in Monteriggioni, a 13th century medieval town which was the stage for the famous movie “The Gladiator”. Here you will be able to admire the wonderful views of the area and the Tuscan countryside from the ancient walls or explore the small shops selling the local handicrafts. During the journey our local guide will give you information about the area, the villages with maps and lots of tips that only local know.
After Monteriggioni we will drive through the rolling hills of Tuscany to admire the many vineyards, olive trees, cypresses and everything that makes this land a dream pleace. We will finally stop in a LOCAL WINERY where you will be visiting the cellars accompanied by useful explanations from an expert to discover the traditions of the wine making art followed by a wine and olive oil tasting at the end. In the winery you will be able to taste up to 4 kind of wine and buy the local products at a great price either to bring back to Florence or to ship to your home.
The third stop will be at the historic city of Siena where you will be enchanted by the architectural styles of the Cathedral, the Mangia Bell Tower and the Palazzo Pubblico in Piazza del Campo, the venue of the famous Palio horse race held twice a year in July and August. In Siena you will have free time to wander around and discover the hidden beauties of this magical town.
